Ski Queen Gjetost (pronounced Yay Toast) originated in Norway over 130 years ago and is a staple in about every home there. A blend of cow and goat's milk, it is sweet like butterscotch with a rich, dense texture. The brown color is derived from the caramelization of the the milk sugars during production. It can be sliced and served on toast, crackers, tart apples, or added to sauces and fondue. It pairs nicely with a blackberry jam, DLM Rustic Country bread, and a cold hard cider.
