Stumptown Coffee Roasters started in Portland, Oregon, and their coffees are generally considered a medium roast. They source really high quality beans and roast each blend just enough to bring out the best of the beans' inherient qualities. Stumptown Organic French Roast is their darkest roast. It is a toasty blend that redifines what a dark roast can be — big and smokey, but never burnt. This blend is sourced from South America and brings incredibly layered flavors of clove and bittersweet chocolate. The beans are removed at the second "crack", an audible sound the beans make when they've reached the maximum amount of heat that preserves flavor.
